Marjolijn Ketelaar is Associate Professor at the Center of Excellence for Rehabilitation Medicine, the research institute of the UMC Utrecht Brain Center, and De Hoogstraat Rehabilitation, and Scientist at CanChild, Center for Childhood Disability Research, McMaster University, Hamilton, Canada.

Her research focuses on the role of the family in the development and participation of children with disabilities. Since 1999, she is the national coordinator of the Dutch research program PERRIN, studying the development of activities and participation of children, adolescents, and young adults with CP.

In her work the link between research and clinical practice is important. She strongly believes in collaboration with patients, families, and service providers in all stages of the research cycle, to optimize relevance and usefulness of research, and to improve clinical practice. This presents itself in strong ties with service providers and patient organizations.

Marjolijn is the co-founder, and member of the board of CP-Net, a network of parents and persons with CP, clinicians and researchers, aiming to improve the care for persons with CP.
